The Immunology Translational Research Programme (ITRP) is pleased to welcome Dr Alan Hsu, who joined NUS in July 2026 as an Assistant Professor and NUS Presidential Young Professor (PYP) in the ITRP and the Department of Microbiology and Immunology.

Dr Hus’s lab investigates how innate immunity is regulated and reprogrammed across infection, chronic inflammation and aging. His research work focuses on neutrophil biology, inflammaging, and extracellular vesicle-mediated immunology, with a particular interest in understanding how immune responses transition from inflammation toward resolution and tissue repair.
By uncovering the mechanisms that govern these immune transitions, Dr Hsu and his team aim to develop new strategies for immune reprogramming, with the goal of restoring immune balance and promoting healthy aging.
We are delighted to welcome Dr Hsu to the Immunology TRP and look forward to the exciting contributions his research will bring to our community.
