About the project

This is a research project to help us understand how tropical heat in Singapore impacts health, safety, and work performance during simulated manual work.

4 main visits:

  • 1 visit for familiarisation session
  • 3 visit for experimental session: Treadmill exercise with physiological monitoring and VR-based taskes in different hot and humid environmental conditions

Volunteer Criteria

Gender: Male
Age: 21 to 40 years old
Other Requirements:

  • Healthy and physically active
  • Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (based on prevailing national definitions)
  • Willing to swallow or rectally self-insert a telemetric capsule
  • No pre-existing or history of heat injury, chronic medical conditions (e.g. cardiovascular, respiratory, gastrointestinal) and/or balance/gait disorders
  • No physical injury with the past 3 months
  • Not afraid of heights
