Research Themes

Med-tech research in the CVMD-TRP centres around the Kofidis and Drum labs. The Kofidis lab leads on innovative flagship projects including “personalised valves” and holographic simulation surgery training. The Drum lab bridges the fields of nanotechnology and protein structure and function to create novel solutions for biological therapeutic design and manufacture, such as the creation of nanoscaled Anfinsen cage technology, encapsulating and folding unstructured peptides to stabilize and create novel peptide folds which address critical gaps in therapeutic design.
