The Department of Pathology provides an active and collaborative environment for graduate students to participate and lead projects in translational research in cancer. Candidate graduate students are welcome to apply to the various scholarship and funding opportunities at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. Histopathology Residency (NUHS Pathology Residency Programme)

The department has had a strong record of successfully training Pathology residents, many having gone on to serve as Consultant Pathologists in the various hospitals in Singapore.

The Department of Pathology offers attachment or elective opportunities to pre-medical or undergraduate students.
Pre-medical students can arrange for attachments with the department through the National University Hospital’s Healthcare Immersion Programme (NUH HIP).
Local and overseas medical students are welcome to apply for an elective with Pathology through their respective schools or institutions.

The department offers clinical electives based at the National University Hospital. The electives provide an opportunity for the student to observe the daily clinical practice of a hospital pathologist, and generally last 1 or 2 weeks. Please apply through your respective schools.

What is covered under the elective include: experiencing first-hand the day-to-day life of a pathologist, activities such as specimen cut-ups, microscopic analysis, intraoperative frozen section consultations and clinical case discussions.
