As a notable pharmacology educator at the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, Prof  Peter Wong was well respected amongst students across the different disciplines of healthcare professions in medical, dental, nursing, pharmacy, and also in the life sciences.

Prof Wong’s contributions to pharmacology and neurochemistry research were also substantial. As a leader and pioneer in neuroscience and neuropharmacology research for nearly four decades, Prof Wong has brought neurochemistry to prominence in Singapore and the Asia Pacific with his seminal work in the Asia-Pacific Society of Neurochemistry (APSN) as well as the International Society of Neurochemistry (ISN).

But perhaps beyond all the professional achievements and accolades, Prof Wong will be remembered most fondly for being a humble man who was always willing to listen and lend a helping hand. Indeed, he was an exemplar to many of us by embodying the phrase “not pride of knowledge, but humility of wisdom”.

To pay a meaningful tribute to Prof Peter Wong, NUS Medicine has established the Peter Wong Tsun-Hon Memorial Fund, and we would like to invite you to join us in remembering him through your generous gift. Each gift will support medical education and help to perpetuate Prof Wong’s passionately held beliefs about the education of future generations of medical professionals.

NUS Medicine will oversee the final use of the sums raised. In the event when we raise a minimum sum of S$75,000, the Memorial Fund will be converted to an endowment that will exist in perpetuity. We hope you will help us to reach this goal for a permanent and lasting tribute to Prof Peter Wong. The capital sum of the endowed gifts will be preserved and invested to generate an annual income. The distributable income from the return of the investment of the endowed gifts will be applied towards the Gift Purpose. NUS will be responsible for, and have the sole discretion in, the administration of the Gift in accordance with the relevant NUS Statutes and Regulations, and its Standard Terms and Conditions for Gifts (as may be amended from time to time by NUS), updated for compliance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2012.
