In 1992 our 150 paths converged as first year medical students in NUS. We were fresh out of junior colleges or returning from serving National Service. All brimming with excitement and enthusiasm at the chance we had to be trained as doctors, to save lives, to help others and to make an impact on our society.

More than 25 years on, we have done just that. We have taken different roads. Some have become well respected surgeons, internists, interventionists, family physicians etc. Yet others have come to head big healthcare related organizations. We have all touched many many lives. Through all, we have lived out our pledge to “cure sometimes, to treat often, to comfort always”.

Establishing this bursary will ensure that our legacy continues. To help in part to train up future doctors. It will mean that we can continue to make a difference for years to come, long after our time has passed. What a great privilege it is to be part of something bigger.
