The Class of 2023 Parents Fund Bursary is supported by the parents of the students from the MBBS Class of 2023, who are beginning their journey at NUS Medicine with the White Coat Ceremony 2018. The fund will be used to support underprivileged medical undergraduates. Any undisbursed funds at the end of their children’s graduation in 2023 will be used to seed fund and initiate the MBBS Class of 2023 Bursary.

Class of 2023 Parents Fund Bursary (For Information)

How many students in each cohort require financial assistance?
About 200 students apply for financial assistance each year but the School does not have enough bursaries to help all of them or give them with the full financial aid they need.  The School estimates that one in six* students will face financial difficulties that will jeopardise their medical studies.

As a School, we are committed to ensuring that no deserving student is denied a medical education, and more bursaries are required to meet the increasing need for undergraduate financial aid. We can then ensure that the medical class includes students from all levels of society, not just those whose families can afford to send them to university

*As at 2018
