In-person Workshop

About this Masterclass:

Climate change directly effects the health and wellbeing of our patients. Ironically, healthcare itself is a significant carbon emitter, contributing up to 7% of global carbon emissions. As Singapore takes active steps to reach its net zero commitments and decarbonise the healthcare system, carbon literacy among clinicians and the wider health profession is more important than ever before. The workshop will provide fresh insight in to the methods underpinning carbon footprint studies in the healthcare setting, and give participants the skills needed to analyse the growing number of life cycle assessment studies appearing in medical journals.

Organised by the Centre for Sustainable Medicine, this in-person workshop features two of the world’s leading experts in life-cycle assessment, Dr Scott McAlister and Assoc Prof Forbes McGain, from the University of Melbourne.

Who this course is for: Any healthcare professional, administrator or policymaker seeking a comprehensive understanding of healthcare carbon hotspots and life cycle assessment methodologies and interpretation.
