Singapore is proud to host the first in-person meeting of the newly formed Lancet Commission on Sustainable Healthcare (LCSH) in Singapore from 12 to 14 March 2024.
The LCSH is a pioneering research collective convened by the Lancet that brings together the foremost experts in health, healthcare, and climate change from across the world. The Commission is dedicated to generating evidence and solutions for low-carbon, climate-resilient healthcare delivery to facilitate the global net zero shift in healthcare delivery.
As host to the meeting, the Centre for Sustainable Medicine will offer its perspective on the operating context and challenges faced by Singapore and the region. It will also work together with its LCSH partners in developing strategies and solutions for clinical practice transformation, low-carbon care model implementation, and climate-focused health systems planning and design.
To celebrate the Centre’s local launch and introduce senior clinicians and healthcare leaders to the LCSH, the Centre will also host a public plenary on 13 March 2024 from 5-7.30pm at the Auditorium of NUHS Tower Block. There, Commissioners from the LCSH will offer their expert input to support local healthcare leaders and health policymakers in adapting to the emerging public health threats presented by climate change and developing a robust plan for decarbonising healthcare.
