Dr Paul Anantharajah Tambyah is currently Professor of Medicine at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, Senior consultant Infectious Diseases Physician and deputy director of the NUS Infectious Diseases Translational Research Program. After completing medical school at NUS and military service at the Singapore Armed Forces Medical Corps, he went on to do infectious diseases training at the University of Wisconsin with Dr Dennis Maki. After returning to Singapore more than 25 years ago, he has served in a number of national and international committees most recently as immediate past President of the International Society for Infectious Diseases and the Asia Pacific Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infection. He is also a visiting consultant to the Singapore Armed Forces and the Singapore National Center for Infectious Diseases. His main research interests are in device associated infections.
