NUS Webinar: COVID-19 prevention and treatment bridging the gap from science to clinical practice
This webinar was organised by Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore, Continuing Education and Training unit, with the support of Pfizer.
The session delved into two primary areas of focus: the advancements in oral antiviral therapies and vaccine techniques and the implementation of evidence-backed strategies to foster intervention acceptance, with a spotlight on behavioural change and implementation science in public health.
Associate Professor David Allen, Programme Director and Senior Consultant with the Division of Infectious Diseases at the Department of Medicine, NUH, highlighted the ongoing challenges of COVID-19. Dr. Louisa Sun, Deputy Director of the Centre for Infectious Disease Emergency Response (CIDER) of Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, provided comprehensive insights on topics such as vaccine updates, long COVID-19, intranasal vaccines, and the role of oral antiviral medications.
The conversation further deepened with Professor Nick Sevdalis, Academic Director at the Centre for Behavioural and Implementation Science Interventions, discussed the importance of implementation science in overcoming hurdles and translating research into real-world practices.
The session concluded with a lively Q&A segment with the distinguished speakers.
