Dr Louisa Sun is an Infectious Diseases consultant and head of the Infection Prevention and Control and Epidemiology Unit at Alexandra Hospital. She also serves on multiple committees in MOH for infection control and antimicrobial resistance and is a part-time consultant to the Communicable Diseases Division.

She helmed various internal and external COVID-19 response measures and operations throughout the pandemic. including being at the forefront of managing the dormitory outbreaks, leading risk communication and engagement efforts for migrant workers, and managing two community isolation and treatment facilities. For her contributions to the COVID-19 pandemic response, she was awarded the Public Administration Medal (Bronze) in the National Awards (COVID-19), and the Healthcare Humanity Award in 2023.

Dr Sun takes a special interest in emerging infectious diseases and outbreak response. Being conferred her Master of Public Health degree from the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health (NUS) in 2022, she is currently pursuing her PhD in health policy research at Duke-NUS Medical School.
