Dr Yan Niu

Dr Yan Niu is an Associate Research Fellow at the Public Health Emergency Center of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (China CDC). Her research focuses on key technologies for public health emergency preparedness and response, including intelligent decision-support systems, artificial intelligence-assisted epidemiological investigations, and infectious disease modelling for public health decision-making.

 

Dr Niu serves as Deputy Secretary-General of two national professional committees in public health security and emergency management. She is also an Executive Committee Member of the Young Scientists Alliance for Disease Control and Prevention. She previously served as a technical advisory expert for the World Health Organization’s Public Health Emergency Operations Centre Network (EOC-NET) and currently serves on the editorial boards of several public health journals.

 

Dr Niu has led projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, National Science and Technology Major Projects, the National Key Research and Development Program, and the World Health Organization. She has published more than 20 peer-reviewed articles as first or corresponding author, including papers in The Lancet Global Health and Infectious Diseases of Poverty, and has co-authored five books.
