Jordi Sacristan Llobet

Technical Officer, Health Logistics and WASH, World Health Organisation (WHO)


Jordi Sacristan Llobet is an expert public health professional with over 25 years of global frontline experience in emergency health logistics, outbreak response, and WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene). Currently serving as Technical Officer for Health Logistics and WASH at the World Health Organization (WHO) Headquarters in Geneva, he provides critical operational support during public health emergencies across all WHO regions.

Jordi’s career has spanned some of the world’s most challenging health crises—including cholera, Ebola, yellow fever, COVID-19, and large-scale natural disasters—across Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Americas. Prior to joining WHO in 2005, he large contributed to life-saving missions with Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) as well, reinforcing his reputation for his hands-on expertise, strategic leadership, and deep understanding of field operations in complex environments.

He is known for designing and implementing agile WASH and logistics strategies, developing technical guidance and training materials, and strengthening national and institutional emergency preparedness capacities, bridging operational realities with global policy frameworks.

Academically, Jordi holds master’s degrees in Ecology (University of London – Queen Mary) and Educational Sciences (UPC – Barcelona Tech), and a bachelor’s in biology from the University of Barcelona. Fluent in English, French, Spanish, and Catalan—with intermediate Portuguese—he combines scientific insight with cross-cultural fluency to drive collaborative, impact-driven interventions in public health.
