Asia Pacific Lead, Global Regulatory Affairs at the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI)


Meenu Batolar is collaborative professional in pharmaceutical industry with extensive experience in driving and paving innovative registration pathways for preventive and therapeutic options, and global, regional therapeutic options. Meenu is the Asia Pacific Lead for Global Regulatory Affairs at the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI), a not-for-profit vaccine R&D funding organization. In this role, Meenu leads regional regulatory networks driving discussion on epidemic and pandemic emergencies and preparedness for future outbreaks.

Meenu has keen focus on building collaborative scientific partnerships with health authorities, patient organizations, industry platforms. With a career driven by increasing responsibility and greater complexity, she has expertise in diverse range of functions and therapeutic areas, covering leadership roles in vaccines, neurology, renal, haematology / oncology development with Takeda Vaccines, Sanofi Pasteur, Biogen Idec, Baxter and UCB, and has expertise in Regulatory Affairs, Pharmacovigilance, Compliance, Affiliate leadership and Government Affairs.

Meenu led the registration of the FIRST preventive option against Dengue in Vietnam and in Thailand that can be administered irrespective of serostatus with broad indication of 4 years and above. She was instrumental in securing the FIRST licensure of Inactivated Polio Vaccines (IPV) in India paving pathway for IPV-based combination vaccines. She has pioneered setting up numerous regulatory innovations and best practices in the pharmaceutical industry. She has built equity with various industry organizations and health authority officials across the region.

Meenu completed her master’s program in pharmacology at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi. She published her thesis work in International Publications. She also earned her bachelor’s in pharmacy degree from Delhi Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Applied Research (DIPSAR), New Delhi, India.

On personal front, Meenu is mother to Twins and married with her college batchmate Dr. Lakhvinder. She has a she-lapdog Shih-tzu whose name is “Pepper”. Meenu is a storyteller, likes to travel, explore new places, read books, watch movies, cycling, swimming, reiki healer and spending time with friends, family and Pepper.
