Dr Claire Canning obtained her PhD in Medical Genetics from the University of London and the National Institute of Medical Research, in 2003. After 10 years of postdoctoral research in London and Singapore, Claire decided to focus purely on tertiary education.

An enthusiastic education specialist, Claire has held numerous faculty appointments teaching undergraduate and postgraduate learners. She has extensive experience in the field of assessment, curriculum design, and overall programme curation, with a special interest in adult education. Claire was awarded her Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education (University of Dundee) in 2017.

Claire has published in the field of medical education and the biomedical sciences. She is the recipient of multiple research grants and university-level awards for her achievements in medical education and serves as an external advisor to multiple international universities.
