Young Biomedical Science Educators Programme

The Young Biomedical Science Programme is a dynamic initiative designed to equip young professionals with essential skills in biomedical science education. Open to all Senior Research Fellows, Research Fellows, Teaching Assistants, Instructors, and PhD Students who are presently involved or interested in teaching biomedical science, the program caters to individuals with a strong interest in pursuing a future career in health professions education. It features a Core Module, requiring participants to complete all online learning modules and attend a 1.5-day face-to-face workshop covering curriculum design, foundations of learning, teaching and learning approaches, assessment, mentoring, and well-being. Participants can then choose one Selective Module focusing either on quality assurance, program evaluation, leadership, and risk management or on the scholarship of teaching and learning (SOTL) alongside qualitative and quantitative research methods. Additionally, the program incorporates mentoring and coaching, as well as the development of a learning portfolio, culminating in a capstone project or attendance at the Asia Pacific Medical Education Conference (APMEC).
