Profile

Serene joined CBmE in Oct 2023 as a research fellow. Her current research focuses on issues pertaining to responsibility in healthcare. Her PhD research focuses on the disclosure of genetic risk information to family members. With a BSc(Hons) in computational chemistry and MSc in bioinformatics, she is particularly interested in ethical issues arising from emerging technologies such as genetic testing, precision medicine and AI. Serene also sits on the Southeast Asian Bioethics Network steering committee.
