Profile
Dr Biswas trained and practised at the Christian Medical College, Vellore, India from 1994 to 2006. He graduated in 2000, then went on to receive postgraduate training in Paediatrics, during which he obtained the Indian postgraduate degrees of Diploma in Child Health (2002), Doctor of Medicine (MD, 2004) and Diplomate of the National Board (DipNB, 2005). He was a lecturer in Neonatology at the Christian Medical College until 2006.
After obtaining the degree of MRCPCH (2008), he completed a dual specialist accreditation in Paediatrics and Neonatology at National University Hospital (NUH). He currently practises as consultant paediatrician and sub-specialises in Neonatology. Dr Biswas is also an Assistant Professor in the Department of Paediatrics at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore, and is involved in both undergraduate and paediatric post graduate training.
Dr Biswas’ areas of interest are in the management of premature babies and newborns with surgical conditions (general and cardiovascular). Neonatal haemodynamics fascinates him and is part of his field of research. Additionally, Dr Biswas is a member of Paediatric Ethics and Advocacy group (PEACe). He is active in harnessing current information technology to improve patient care and safety.
