Experientials

Once a month, the HHH hosts free experiential workshops. Some of these workshops are held on campus, while some are held externally. These workshops are free for all to attend. This page serves to provide an overview of which workshops are being planned, what they entail, and when they are happening.

N.B.: HHH Experiential Workshops are open to faculty, staff, and students from all four healthcare disciplines in NUS: Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, and Dentistry.

March 2026: Slow Art Programme, National Gallery Singapore

Curious about art and enjoying art? Thinking about how stories are told via art, and how art communicates in ways that subvert traditional, natural language?

We are proud to launch the first experiential workshop for HHH participants. Slow down, look closer, and experience mindfulness through art. Led by National Gallery staff, this immersive session will help you tune into the details, stories, and emotions hidden within each piece — a practice that sharpens observation and presence, both in art and in medicine.

The HHH will fund up to 24 participants to take part in an art appreciation workshop, with more details about the workshop below. If you are interested, sign up as soon as possible to avoid disappointment! Details are as follows.

Date: 5 March 2026
Time: 5:30pm – 6:30pm

(Participants are expected to arrive by 5:15pm to avoid delays)

Summary:

Experience the transformative power of slow looking in this unique programme called Slow Art Guide, and learn to savour art in a deep and conscious manner.

The Slow Art Guide encourages participants to slow down and truly connect with art, allowing for a more personal and profound engagement with the visual world. During the session, participants will experience a 20-minute audio journey focusing on one artwork. Following the audio experience, everyone will come together to share their insights and emotions in a guided group reflection.

Each participant will receive a specially designed reflection booklet that complements the audio experience. The booklet offers engaging prompts for self-reflection and serves as a creative space to record your thoughts and emotions during the session. Writing materials will be provided.

This programme is for anyone interested in art, mindfulness or interested in exploring another format of art engagement. No prior knowledge of art is required. This is an interactive programme. Be prepared to listen, share and embrace new perspectives for a richer collective experience.
