1) Research Fellow

We are looking to appoint an experienced and enthusiastic postdoctoral researcher to join our team. The successful candidate will carry out research under the supervision of Associate Professor Brian Earp, in addition to some general project management and administrative support for his work at CBmE, notably for the Centre’s moral psychology and experimental bioethics lab.

A/Prof Earp’s work brings philosophers together with psychologists to conduct experimental studies in moral psychology and bioethics, contributing to substantive normative and philosophical debates in ethics. Specifically, the lab investigates the contributing factors and psychological processes that shape:

  • Moral intuitions, judgments and reasoning
  • Moral agency, moral action and moral motivation
  • The structure and application of (bio)ethical concepts

2) Senior Executive

We are looking for a highly organised, detail-oriented, and proactive Senior Executive, to join the NUS CBmE on the CENTRES (Clinical Ethics Network + Research Ethics Support) project. Funded by the Ministry of Health, CENTRES is a networking and training platform to enhance capabilities of healthcare professionals and clinical ethics committees in Singapore. The person shall provide administrative, operational and liaison support to ensure effective development and administration of the:

• MOH-NUS Fellowship Programme, and
• collaborative working model with the health professional boards, councils, and associations, to support the coming mandatory CPE requirement in ethics and professionalism and its learning activities

3) Associate Professor or Assistant Professor

CBmE is looking to appoint a talented, collegial, committed and enthusiastic bioethicist to join our faculty. We are particularly keen to develop our strengths in research and teaching in medical ethics generally with possible specialisms in empirical bioethics, experimental bioethics, reproductive ethics, genethics, neuroethics, AI ethics or clinical and healthcare ethics (including work on health systems and public health). The person appointed will have sufficient experience and standing to strengthen and support the development of our research portfolio, and to make significant educational contributions as we enhance our undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. We will consider medically qualified applicants who are eligible and keen to maintain some clinical responsibilities, but they must be able and willing to take on (proportionately) the full range of teaching and research responsibilities of the position.
