About

Cancer

Cancer is characterized by the uncontrolled division and growth of abnormal cells in the body. It can occur in almost any tissue or organ. Even though the cause of many cancers remains elusive, genetic factors, environmental exposures (such as tobacco smoke and carcinogenic chemicals), radiation, and viral infections are known cancer inducers. Electromagnetic fields (EMF) have been shown to inhibit the growth of many types of cancer cells. It can interfere with cellular proliferation and promote the induction of apoptosis (programmed cell death). EMF may also increase the sensitivity of cancer cells to chemotherapy through the increased calcium signalling and chemo drug entry via calcium-permeable transporters. This may improve the efficacy of chemotherapy treatment in cancer patients.
