PHM5019 – Precision Population Health

Course Overview

This course focuses on AI-enhanced Precision Population Health: Innovations and Applications and explores how artificial intelligence, big data, and digital health technologies are transforming population health and public health strategies. It will examine how AI-driven analytics, precision medicine, and advanced decision-making tools can enhance disease prevention, health promotion, and health system efficiency. Through real-world case studies, students will analyze the ethical and equity implications of AI in public health and explore its applications across diverse populations. Interactive discussions, case analyses, and practical exercises will equip students with the skills to critically assess and apply AI-driven Precision Population Health approaches to contemporary health challenges. 

Learning Outcomes

1. Understand and articulate the principles and key concepts of AI-driven Precision Population Health, including its integration with public health frameworks, artificial intelligence, big data, digital health, and precision medicine.

2. Analyze and evaluate real-world case studies to illustrate the application of AI and data-driven technologies in Precision Population Health for disease prevention, health promotion, and health system optimization. 

3. Critically assess the ethical, social, and equity implications of AI-driven Precision Population Health approaches, with a focus on mitigating health disparities and ensuring responsible implementation. 

4. Apply AI and data science concepts to identify innovative Precision Population Health solutions for contemporary global and population health challenges.
