Immunology
NUS Immunology TRP
The Immunology Programme aims to understand the role of the immune system in health and diseases and its regulation with the goal of enabling discovery and development of more effective immunotherapy, new treatment guidelines and diagnostic tests for patients with disease-specific problems such as autoimmune and airway diseases, cancer, chronic inflammation, infections and organ/ tissue transplantation. These goals will be achieved by fostering collaborative research, advancing latest technologies to probe immunological mechanisms, and by enhancing infrastructure for clinical translation.
Three themes have been identified in this programme which will be supported by shared technologies and cores:
- Immune homeostasis – to advance understanding the role of the immune system in health and diseases and its regulation.
- Immunotherapies – to advance and deliver innovative immune-based therapies to patients.
- The Asian immunophenotype and clinical investigations – to develop and circulate novel approaches to diagnose, guide treatment and measure therapy efficacy.
