SUMMARY:Joint Grant Call: Early Cancer Intervention – NCIS and N2CR
DESCRIPTION:Joint Grant Call: Early Cancer Intervention – National University Cancer Institute\, Singapore (NCIS) and NUS Centre for Cancer Research (N2CR) \nWe are pleased to announce a joint grant call for proposals on Early Cancer Intervention (ECI)\, a collaboration between NCIS and the N2CR- ECI Thematic Programme. This initiative aims to support research projects that bridge clinical and fundamental perspectives\, with a specific focus on addressing early cancer intervention needs in Singapore and the surrounding region. \nObjective: \nThe primary objective of this seed grant initiative is to provide initial funding for projects exploring novel ideas in the realm of early cancer intervention within the Singaporean and regional context. We seek to support projects that may lack sufficient preliminary data but demonstrate significant potential impact and can generate data for subsequent competitive funding applications to national agencies. \n  \nAreas of funding include\, but are not limited to:  \n\nDiagnostic Technologies\nPreliminary Biomarker Discovery and/or Development\nConceptual Screening Programs for community-based screening\nEarly-Stage Intervention Strategies\n\nFunding Details: \n\n\n\nEach grant award is capped at $100\,000 per award with a maximum duration of 18 months.\n\n\n\nEligibility: \n\nProposals must involve a clinical Principal Investigator (PI) who is either a primary or affiliate member NCIS\, and a PI conducting bench (or preclinical) research who is an ECI-themed (primary\, secondary\, or affiliate) member of N2CR.\nIn cases where neither PI holds a primary appointment within NCIS\, a co-Investigator with a primary NCIS appointment should be included.\nEach PI is limited to one proposal as a Lead PI and one additional proposal as Co-PI (maximum of 2 proposals).\n\n  \nGrant Selection Process and Submission Timeline: \n\nIdeas Pitch Meeting (22nd Feb\, 4pm at MD6\, Level 12 Conference Room)\n\n\nTeams pitch their innovative ideas with 4-5 slides to members in attendance. Audience members provide constructive feedback and vote for their top four proposals.\n\n\nInvitation to submit a full seed grant proposal (submit proposals by 4th March\, 10am)\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTop-voted proposals in (A) are invited to strengthen their ideas based on audience feedback and submit a comprehensive seed grant proposal for grant review (proposal form enclosed). The top 3 proposals will be awarded $100\,000 each.\n\n\n\n\n\n  \nApplication Process: \n\nKindly inform Ann (ann.koay@nus.edu.sg) if you would like to pitch a proposal at the Ideas Pitch Meeting scheduled on the 22nd Feb 2024\, 4pm at MD6\, Level 12 Conference Room
