fNIRS-based assessment of central nervous system and augmentation strategies during exertional hyperthermia

About the project

6 main visits spaced at least 6 days apart (approx. 1.5 to 3 hours each)

  • 1 visit for VO2max test (indicator of aerobic fitness)
  • 4 visits for Treadmill walk/run* at 50-70% VO2max under different conditions
    • Cool: Approx. 22°C & 50% relative humidity,
    • Warm: Approx. 32°C & 70% relative humidity,
    • Warm + face cooling: Approx. 32°C & 70% relative humidity
  • 1 visit for passive heating* in a hot tub

*Involves 1 urine sampling, 3 blood sampling (18ml each) and 4 stool sampling per trial.
