Speakers Biosketch

Prof Alina Rodriguez has been an active multidisciplinary scientist for more than 25 years. She earned her PhD from Uppsala University Sweden in psychology. As a recipient of the prestigious fellowship from the Swedish Governmental Agency for Innovation Systems, she trained extensively in public health and epidemiology at Imperial College London and in molecular psychiatry at King’s College London. Currently, she is Senior Principal Scientist III at the Institute of Human Development and Potential, A*STAR, and professor of Psychological Medicine at Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, NUS. She is chartered member of British Psychological Society and serves on the Scientific and Medical Advisory Committee of Unlocking ADHD, a charitable organisation aimed at supporting people with ADHD in Singapore. Her research spans across four countries and has focused on the interface between health and mental health using a lifecourse perspective to uncover risk and protective factors.  At present, the main focus of her research is on adolescence.

 

Ms Megan Oh is a Research Assistant at NUS. She holds a BSc with first class honours in Psychology, and has presented her research on statistical methods at conferences in the UK, Singapore, and Netherlands. She is currently working with Dr Ong Yi Ying, developing models of fetal growth to predict and improve future health outcomes.
