This symposium is to mark the completion of the first phase of a three-phase Asian Anthropology research and intervention program on Asian Breast Cancers. It is the first Pan Asian Anthropology work for breast cancer led by Singaporeans, across eight countries, to scientifically address a disease of epidemic proportion.

Phase One focuses on the intensity of breast cancer epidemic in Asia and the need to understand the cultures and barriers hindering screening and seeking treatment in some of these Asian countries. In Phase Two, our anthropologists and public health researchers will explore in-depth understanding of women in Singapore and lastly in Phase Three our public health researchers will implement intervention to try to improve the uptake of screening and health-seeking behaviours.

This event seeks to provide a platform for researchers, healthcare providers and students from various disciplines to gather and explore possible future collaborations on breast cancer research. Please RSVP by 2 February 2018.
