Brief Abstract:-<\/strong><\/p>\n

There is accumulating evidence that childhood trauma and other trauma in early adulthood are prevalent in the first-episode psychosis population. Previous studies have also revealed that untreated trauma has a severe impact on the prognosis of psychosis and co-morbid psychopathology (e.g. depression), due to the lack of appropriate treatment and management. Accordingly, this has resulted in greater suffering, burden, and costly service utilization for the patient, their family, and the community. The speaker will provide an overview of the literature with application to past research done in Singapore. In addition, the speaker will share preliminary findings from an ongoing study, which examines the prevalence of trauma and effects of emotion dysregulation on Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) symptoms in patients admitted into the Early Psychosis Intervention Program (EPIP), Institute of Mental Health.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
