Welcome to the Department of Psychological Medicine at Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, NUS.
Our department was founded in 1979 and we have a lasting tradition of educational excellence, in training and nurturing the finest clinicians in mental health. Our strengths are in academic psychiatry, which includes depression,mood disorders, ageing psychiatry, dementia, child and adolescent psychiatry and medical consultation psychiatry.

The Department of Psychological Medicine maintains a vigorous education schedule, with the aim to inculcate a culture of continuous learning amongst all medical professionals. The Academic Programme offers education, training and practice, and guidance in providing exemplary patient care.

The Gerontology Research Programme (GRP) aims to increase current understanding of population ageing and health transition and to provide the scientific information needed for formulating strategies of disease prevention and health promotion in the elderly.

REACH is a community-based mental health service set up in 2007, as a programme under the National Mental Health Blueprint, to work closely with schools, community agencies and family doctors to serve the mental health needs of children and adolescents of school-going age.
