Brief Abstract:
The human brain consists of a complex network of hundreds of brain regions and thousands of interconnecting white matter axonal pathways. It is crucial to obtain deeper insights into brain circuits and their connectivity to better understand, diagnose and treat psychiatric disorders. Recent advances in neuroimaging and particularly driven by the Human Connectome Project, facilitates progression in characterizing disease-related brain connectivity abnormalities. This presentation aims to cover broadly the following:
- What is brain connectivity
- Role of brain connectivity in neuropsychiatric disorders
- Potential impact of studying connectome/connectivity
