Brief Abstract:
It is known that grammatical complexity declines in individuals showing symptoms of dementia. How the decline progresses in tandem with the progression of dementia is not known. The proposed project studies grammatical complexity related to aging generally, and to dementia specifically. It aims to identify grammatical markers associated with clinically- defined stages of dementia.
