Profile
Dr Celine Wong is a medical graduate of the National University of Singapore. She went on to the United States of America to pursue specialist training in psychiatry in Maimonides Medical Center (State University of New York). She completed her residency in General Psychiatry and then a Child and Adolescent fellowship in St Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital, a teaching hospital of Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons from 2011 to 2013. There, she was elected to be Chief Fellow and was involved in teaching and mentoring of both medical students and psychiatry residents. Dr Wong is also Board Certified in both Adult and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). She is also a member of the American Psychiatric Association (APA) and the American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP).
Dr Wong has special interests in the teaching of medical students of Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. She is very involved in the teaching of her sub-specialty of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and oversees and coordinates the Child/Adolescent Psychiatry training of medical students.
In line with her interests and expertise, Dr Wong also set up the Integrated Programme for Management of Depression in Adolescents (IPMDA) in NUH. The programme aims to identify youth with or at risk of depression to allow early and timely treatment. Treatment is integrated and holistic and comprises of psycho-education, case management, group and/or individual therapy, parenting support as well as use of technology to promote healthy lifestyle in youth.
Dr Wong is passionate about working with youth and their families and believes in a holistic approach to treating mental conditions. She believes in a multi-prong, team-based approach to helping youth regain their health and develop to their fullest potential.
