Programme Description and Objective

The RA will be expected to work on a research project under Dr Cyrus Ho from the Department of Psychological Medicine. This project involves creating an intergenerational programme involving adolescents, older adults and adults in the sandwiched generation in the community and evaluating its efficacy in improving psychosocial outcomes.

 

Job Scope 

·       Plan and coordinate the research project

·       Assist in subject recruitment and execution of the programme

·       Analyse study data

·       Prepare manuscripts for publication

 

Job Specification / Requirements

·       At least Bachelor in Psychology or related social science fields

·       CITI certification (to be obtained after job acceptance)

·       Good writing, presentation and communication skills

·       Willing to troubleshoot and problem-solve

·       Knowledge and application of statistics and biostatistics; able to analyse data using software such as SPSS.

 

Salary and Remuneration

The salary is inclusive of CPF and includes a 13th-month bonus. The contract is for at least one year with the chance of extension. There is an opportunity to be included in research publications resulting from this study.

 

Expected start period

July 2024

Programme Description and Objective

The RA will be expected to work on a research project under Dr Cyrus Ho from the Department of Psychological Medicine. This project investigates the neurobiological basis of major depressive disorder and bipolar disorder and involves multimodal brain imaging techniques – functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) and functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS).

 

Job Scope 

·       Plan and coordinate the research project.

·       Assist in subject recruitment, accompany subjects for fMRI scans and perform portable fNIRS on subjects.

·       Analyse study data

·       Prepare manuscripts for publication

 

Job Specification / Requirements

·       At least Bachelor in Life Science or Psychology or Bioinformatics with an interest in biological sciences/Neuroscience

·       CITI certification (to be obtained after job acceptance)

·       Good writing, presentation and communication skills

·       Willing to troubleshoot and problem-solve

·       Learn how to do image processing and analysis of fMRI and fNIRS data with guidance

·       Knowledge and application of statistics and biostatistics; able to analyse data using software such as SPSS.

·       Knowledge of some machine-learning techniques is a bonus
