Next, it may be helpful to begin by <strong>classifying<\/strong> the conditions into:<\/p>\n<ul> \t\n<li>BONE vs JOINT diseases<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>and<\/p>\n<ul> \t\n<li>FOUR major aetiologic categories: Inflamatory, Infectious, Metabolic and Neoplastic<\/li>\n\n<li>There are of course conditions that fall into other aetiologic categories (eg. traumatic, vascular, congenital, etc), however, we will focus on these four, in accordance with your lecture material.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Here&#8217;s a simple framework to start with:<\/p>\n<ul> \t\n<li><strong>I. Bones<\/strong>\n<ul> \t\n<li><strong>Infectious diseases (osteomyelitis)\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n\n<li><strong>Metabolic diseases (osteoporosis; osteomalacia\/rickets; hyerparathyroidism; Paget&#8217;s disease)<\/strong><\/li>\n\n<li><strong>Neoplasms (Benign vs Malignant primary neoplasms; Metastatic malignancy)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul> \t\n<li><strong>II.
