AETIOLOGICAL CLASSIFICATION (click to expand)<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"#\" id=\"fl-accordion--icon-0\" tabindex=\"0\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-0\"><i>Expand<\/i><\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>Aetiology<\/strong> (VITAMIN C, D)<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>V<\/strong>ascular &#8211; eg. Coronary atherosclerosis and ischaemic heart disease<\/li>\n<li><strong>I<\/strong>nflammatory\/infectious &#8211; eg. infective endocarditis; rheumatic heart disease; viral myocarditis<\/li>\n<li><strong>T<\/strong>raumatic\/Mechanical or Toxic &#8211; eg. cardiac tamponade ; coarctation of the aorta<\/li>\n<li><strong>A<\/strong>utoimmune<\/li>\n<li><strong>M<\/strong>etabolic &#8211;\u00a0 infiltrative or storage diseases<\/li>\n<li><strong>I<\/strong>atrogenic or Idiopathic &#8211; eg. drug induced cardiotoxicity<\/li>\n<li><strong>N<\/strong>eoplastic &#8211; eg. atrial myxoma<\/li>\n<li><strong>C<\/strong>ongenital &#8211; eg. congenital cardiac structural abnormalities &#8211; ventricular and atrial septal defects; tetralogy of Fallot etc.<\/li>\n<li><strong>D<\/strong>egenerative &#8211; eg. calcific aortic stenosis<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Note: Heart failure is a multifactorial disease that can be caused by a single main cause or a combination of cardiovascular conditions. It is often the common end point of many heart diseases.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"#\" id=\"fl-accordion--label-0\" tabindex=\"0\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-0\">2. ANATOMICAL CLASSIFICATION (click to expand)<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"#\" id=\"fl-accordion--icon-0\" tabindex=\"0\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-0\"><i>Expand<\/i><\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<ul>\n<li>Within each anatomical subsite, some aetiologies feature more readily \/ commonly. In addition to simply listing conditions in each subsite, think about the aetioloic categories these conditions fall into.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Examples of entities are included here under the main anatomical subsites. This is not a comprehensive table of entities, but an example of this means of classification.
