What causes inflammation?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n\n\t<p>Generally most of the agents that can cause cell injury and necrosis can also cause inflammation. Here are some major causative agents:\u00a0<\/p>\n\t<h3><strong>1. Biological agents<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Infectious agents, e.g. viral, bacterial, fungal organisms, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Necrotic tissue, e.g. post-myocardial infarction &#8211; inflammatory response to dead cardiomyocytes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\t<h3><strong>2. Chemical agents<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Toxins, poisons<\/p>\n\t<h3><strong>3. Physical agents<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>e.g. heat, cold, radiation, foreign bodies like suture material<\/p>\n\t<h3><strong>4.
