The Art of Reconditioning Pathology Pots
Pathology pots are a precious teaching resource used in medical schools worldwide to illustrate gross features of disease. Specimens are placed within transparent containers containing preservative fluid, which can then be displayed in physical pathology or anatomy museums. Over time, some of the pots may degrade, with discoloration of the fluid, or collection of air bubbles within the container.
These videos illustrate some of the processes involved in the physical maintenance of these pots, in order to keep them in optimal viewing and educational condition.
