Theme: Intervention Programme for Mental Wellness aspect of department staff
Organizer: Department of Pathology (NUS)
Open Canvas is part of our department’s Intervention Programme for Mental Wellness, supporting NUS’ Total Workplace Safety and Health (Total WSH) approach by strengthening the “health promotion” and psychosocial wellbeing pillar alongside workplace safety and occupational health. Through a structured blend of creative and reflective practices, participants use colours and drawing to express themselves and release emotions, creating a healthy outlet for stress and unspoken thoughts. Mindfulness and reflection activities help individuals unplug, stay present, and build inner awareness for better self-regulation and recovery. Group-based sharing and collaboration foster empathy, connection, and a stronger sense of community, reducing isolation and encouraging early help-seeking. Together, these elements enhance emotional awareness, resilience, relaxation, and stress reduction—contributing to a safer, healthier, and more sustainable workplace where true Total WSH integration can be carried out effectively.
