top choice for those who are in pursuit of a degree in nursing in Singapore, as the programme is designed to hone practical skills and strengthen clinical experiences through clinical placements.<\/p>\n<p>Students who have performed well throughout the programme and who have achieved a minimum grade point average of 3.2 are eligible to apply to proceed to the Honour\u2019s year, leading to <a href=\"https:\/\/medicine.nus.edu.sg\/nursing\/education-programmes\/undergraduate\/bachelor-of-science-nursing-honours\/honours-programme\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">BSc-Nursing(Honours)<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The focus of the Honours programme covers evidence-based nursing, applied research methods, and integrated clinical practice, among other key core subject matters. Students will also be required to complete a research study during the Honours year.<\/p>\n<p>Our Honours programme provides our most promising students many opportunities to maximise their nursing careers. In his pursuit of higher learning with us, Darryl says, \u201cThe programme has provided me with a safe space to build and conduct research in a calibrated manner. Through this Honours Programme, I was able to conduct both my primary and secondary research. Needless to say, it was an eye opening experience and it further spurred my interest in a research career. What I appreciate most about this programme is that it is taught by some of the brightest minds in Nursing and it is internationally renowned. He shares that he\u2019s interested in learning how evidence from literature contributes to the protocols implemented in the clinical settings. \u201cI believe that this programme will add value to my qualifications as a staff nurse at the hospital and open up opportunities to pursue the research track in the future. I feel that the Honours Programme curriculum is comprehensive, especially in imparting skills necessary for searching, reviewing, and critiquing research literature, as well as conducting primary and secondary research.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJoining the NUS BSc (Nursing)\/(Honours) programme will definitely set you apart from your peers as you are further equipped with the valuable skills in comprehending the most updated evidence in literature and translating it into clinical practice.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Our dynamic school environment has likewise contributed to stimulating the minds of aspiring nurse-researchers. By learning from the best \u2014 mentors and peers alike \u2014 our students are able to engage in an exchange of ideas and best practices. The Honours Programme is challenging, I must admit. But thankfully, we have our professors and supervisors to guide us through the process. I personally find the structure of the curriculum appealing because it provides a good structure for me to build upon especially when I have little background in Human Science. I also enjoy the inter-professional education where we go through scenarios with medical students, and enhance our teamwork and communication skills.
