The NUS Mind Science Centre initiated the first study on dementia and depression prevention in Asia 10 years ago at Jurong with the tagline: preventive medicine in the community by the community for the community. Extension of this project – now called Age Well Everyday (AWE) programme – to 8 more community centres around Singapore is a testament of its translational relevance. The success of the AWE programme hinges not just on the creativity of the professors but also on volunteerism and philanthropy.

Welcome to the Mind Science Centre (MSC), a centre of excellence under the National University Health System and NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, Psychological Medicine.

There is now a growing urgency for innovative strategies to combat the rising rate of psychological problems and dementia in Singapore and Asia due to a fast-paced lifestyle and an ageing population. In response, MSC promotes the use of non-drug, psychosocial interventions to build the mental resilience of the community from adolescents to the elderly.
