Intranasal oxytocin for Autism Spectrum Disorder: Assessing long-term efficacy and underlying neural mechanisms in a randomized controlled trial

What is the study about?

Oxytocin has been studied as a way to improve the social cognition difficulties that Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) adolescents and adults face. This could improve the well-being of the autistic person and their family members. Through this study, we will be assessing the long term efficacy of oxytocin nasal spray as an intervention for autism.

Calling out for volunteer participation!

We are looking for Males diagnosed with ASD, age 15-30 years old.

Volunteer participation in this study would:

  • Last 30 weeks (around half a year)
  • Require you to use a nasal spray for 24 weeks continuously
  • Attend regular check-ups for assessments (22 hours in total)

You will be reimbursed for your time and travelling expenses on an hourly basis.

This clinical trial has been approved by Health Sciences Authority (HSA) Singapore.
