Programme Overview
In response to the growing demand for specialised mental health professionals in the recent unveiled of the Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy by the Ministry of Health, the Graduate Certificate in Clinical Mental Health (GC CMH) is designed for clinically and non-clinically trained professional who are interested in mental health conditions and management of mental health in clinical settings.
Career Prospects
Professionals with a GC CMH can fill a variety of job roles, from direct clinical care to policy analysis, education, and program coordination. The demand for clinical mental health professionals is driven by the increasing recognition of the importance of mental health and the need for specialized clinical expertise in various sectors.

Learning Outcome

Application Requirements
- Hold a relevant Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university with at least an Honours or its equivalent in Psychology, Medicine, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Allied Health, Social Work.
- Fresh graduates or those from non-medical related fields.
- Working professionals who already have a masters in a similar field but want to specialise in mental health work.
- Two professional referee reports on their character and professional competency are required to complete the application. The referees can be their academic mentors, current employer or previous employer.

Certification
Upon completion of the 12-unit course, the graduate will be awarded a Graduate Certificate in Clinical Mental Health (GC CMH),
Master of Clinical Mental Health and Psychotherapy
Students can transfer credits from the following graduate certificates and executive certificates taken within 5 years to stack towards a Master of Clinical Mental Health and Psychotherapy

- Graduate Certificate in Psychotherapy (GCP)*
- + 22 units in clinical competency requirements

*Intake for Executive Certificate in Public Mental Health will commence in August 2026, Graduate Certificate in Psychotherapy will commence in January 2027.
