Associate Professor Heng Chew Kiat appointed Assistant Dean (Graduate Studies)

Research Associate Professor Heng Chew Kiat has been appointed as Assistant Dean for Graduate Studies at the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, with effect from 1 June 2020.
Assoc Prof Heng is currently a Research Director for the Department of Paediatrics. His research interest is in cardiovascular genomics and he is the Principal Investigator of the ongoing Singapore Coronary Artery Disease Genetics Study (SCADGENS). He is also the Singapore representative for several international genetic epidemiology consortia. His research achievements were recognised with the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine Research Excellence Award for AY2018/2019. Additionally, Assoc Prof Heng is a member of the Local Review Panel for the National Medical Research Council and on the panel of expert reviewers for the European Science Foundation.
Assoc Prof Heng has been a member of the NUS Medicine Graduate Programme Committee in the Division of Graduate Studies since 2009 and assumed the role of Deputy Chair since 2016. In his new role as Assistant Dean (Graduate Studies), Assoc Prof Heng will lead the efforts in formulating policies on enhancing the MSc/PhD programme and creating a better experience for students.
