IMU-Bayer CRC Workshop
March 27 2018

“Surprised, fruitful, fun and ingenious!” Those were the words used to describe the workshop that happened on 27th March 2018. The Investigational Medicine Unit (IMU) held their first IMU-Bayer CRC Workshop at the Centre for Translational Medicine (CeTM). The objectives of the workshop are:

  • To provide a holistic overview of Clinical Trials Management
  • To foster better working relationship between site and sponsor

Bayer’s Global Site Management team (Singapore & Malaysia) was meticulous and creative in planning the entire workshop. In addition to the presentations from both IMU and Bayer, there were a number of interactive games which Bayer tailored for IMU staff. This included IMU team members’ trials being suspended in a revamped version of Monopoly, enthusiastic shouting of “BINGO!” after answering questions correctly in a row and racing to the finish line in a game of snake and ladders. It was evident that the IMU team thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon’s events, which is a testament to the success of the workshop.

The workshop session ended with a mini prize presentation for the game champions. Dr Stephanie Tan, Deputy Director of IMU, presented a certificate of appreciation to the Bayer team for their dedication and effort in delivering the workshop with great professionalism. Post workshop, all IMU staff will take turns to spend one week at Bayer office in Singapore to experience first-hand the life of a Clinical Research Associate (CRA).
