He is currently the Deputy Director of xDigital at \u200bHome Team Science &amp; Technology Agency (HTX), where he leads three enterprise thrusts of Digital Strategy &amp; Plans, Digital Programmes &amp; Engagement, and Digital Transformation to empower frontline missions and transform public sector operations for the future.\nMatt is also an Associate Professor of Biomedical Informatics at NUS School of Medicine. He has won data science competitions at the national level, clinching 3rd place for the Data VIZard at the Data Arcade Tournament 2022. He also won the prestigious MINDEF Exemplary Innovator Award for two consecutive years in 2023 and 2024. At NUS, Matt drives the research and lectures on AI and Technology for the advancement of Health and Science. He has won prestigious research grants, amounting to more than S$10 million, from Ministry of Health, SG Enable, and internationally. He has also published more than 50 papers in prestigious peer-reviewed international journals, many of which are in Q1 tier journals, and is widely cited. He is also an Academic Editor for PLOS One Journal.\nIn 2025 he was nominated to speak at the <a href=\"https:\/\/smartconf.jp\/content\/accas2025\/specialsession\">Rising Stars Session<\/a> at the 21st Asian Conference on Computer-Aided Surgery (ACCAS).\n<p>On the side, Matt is a professional opera singer, being sought after for many local events and celebrations, including The SG50 Concert at the Park, Lee Kuan Yew Memorial Concert, TTSH Gala dinner and many others.
