Singapore Healthcare AI Datathon and Expo
Over 700 attendees gathered at the recent IMAGINE AI 2024 conference, a collaborative effort by Singapore's leading healthcare clusters (NUHS, NHG, SingHealth), medical schools (NUS Yoo Yong Lin School of Medicine, NTU Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, DUKE-NUS Medical School), and the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health. This premier event brought together leading minds in healthcare and artificial intelligence, featuring around 60 local and international speakers.
Key highlights included the unveiling of MiSSi, a robotic helper designed to healthcare workers at NUH. Powered by AI, MiSSi can provide information on medication and interact with both nurses and patients. In addition, SSHSPH announced the launch of a new Centre for AI in Public Health, focusing on developing predictive AI models to improve public health outcomes.
This year's IMAGINE AI 2024 demonstrated the transformative potential of AI in revolutionizing healthcare delivery, from enhancing patient care and improving operational efficiency to advancing public health initiatives.

NUS-MIT Healthcare Analytics Symposium and Datathon 2017
The NUS Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health (SSHSPH) and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) co-organised the NUS-MIT Healthcare Analytics Symposium and Datathon 2017 on 30 June – 2 July 2017 with Merck Sharp & Dohme (MSD) Singapore as their industrial collaborator. Held for the first time in Singapore, the event gathered over 200 local and international clinicians, data scientists, software engineers and innovators to strengthen cross-disciplinary collaborations and explore how data analytics could be more effectively used in healthcare systems.
The event was a focal point to showcase and discuss the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in clinical practice and its implications in the age of precision medicine. A number of healthcare AI workshops were held during this event, to introduce participants to the skills required for building AI tools.
