This professional certificate aims to equip learners with an understanding of data handling principles, medical informatics, electronic medical records system, and how these domains would play a role in the future of healthcare.
Learners will use the acquired skills to extract, curate and analyze data in healthcare settings and apply evidence-based practice and telemedicine in patient care. They will be better prepared for roles in the digitised healthcare sector, as well as similar roles in other industries.
Learners who successfully complete all 6 required courses within the maximum candidature period (24 months) will be awarded a ‘Professional Certificate in Data and Artificial Intelligence for Healthcare’.
All 6 courses are SSG-approved and interested learners can utilise their SkillsFuture Credits to offset the nett course fees.
This course is specially designed for non-clinical healthcare professionals who are interested to explore, address and better understand the ethical and professionalism issues in a healthcare setting. The common types of ethical and professional challenges encountered in the world of health informatics, data, privacy and security will be discussed, as well as, how these issues can be identified and addressed via an effective and professional approach.
This interactive course will provide learners with opportunities to discuss and analyse use cases and the application of ethics, morals and values. With the knowledge and skills gained from this course, learners will be able to provide invaluable support in their respective non-clinician support roles such as medical social workers and case coordinators.

This course is specially designed to provide learners with an overview of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) in a healthcare setting. Learners will be able to understand how EMR plays an important role in healthcare throughout the patient’s journey from admissions to discharge. This course also includes an introduction to database architecture, standards, and interoperability.
This interactive course will provide learners opportunities to discuss and analyse use cases with illustrations of the benefits of EMR. Learners will be able to understand the broad role of EMR beyond IT technicalities and its challenges, thereby empowering them to be better prepared for roles in the digitised healthcare sector.

This course is specially designed to equip participants with comprehensive working knowledge necessary for evidence-based medicine and clinical practice guidelines. Overview of design, implementation and evaluation of the features in clinical information systems will be presented to learners, so as to enhance their understanding of the effectiveness of the clinical decision making process. Learners will be able to identify potential risks and consequential patient safety outcomes.
This course will provide a deeper understanding of foundational concepts of clinical decision support systems — an area that utilises both biomedical and computer sciences to enhance effectiveness of the clinical decision making process, where necessary. With increased emphasis on quality and patient safety in provision of care, continuous improvement and innovations to streamline processes effectively is key to higher productivity.

This course is specially designed for learners to understand and examine health informatics in relation to new healthcare technologies. An overview on the use of data analytics in the creation, system design, evaluation of these technologies, educational innovations and its societal impact on self-care, and population would be discussed.
This course will provide a deeper understanding on how Consumer Health Informatics (CHI) plays a major role in providing information to patients and the public such as facilitating the promotion of self-care, enabling informed decision-making and promoting healthy lifestyle behaviors and peer information exchange. With mobile health (mHealth), medical providers can improve the diagnosis, treatment, monitoring, and health education of patients leading to increased patient engagement, improved health outcomes, and reduced costs. Point-of-care tools, such as UpToDate, provide clinicians with the latest medical information while working with patients.

This course provides learners with basic concepts surrounding clinical information systems, with an emphasis on electronic health records, data privacy, clinical configuration, user interface design and computerized physician order entry. It provides an analysis of the role of information and communication technologies in enabling remote patient care and health professional collaboration as part of patient-self management. This is considered with reference to technological, clinical, sociological and policy perspectives.
This course will provide a deeper understanding of the issues surrounding telehealth and recognise the value and basis for effective telehealth design with the use of data analytics. The course will describe the practical application of these concepts, including implementation, clinical workflow, privacy and security, certification, medical device integration, and community health information exchange.
