Working together with committed and enthusiastic mentors to start them on the right foot, we foster and create a nurturing research culture, paying close attention to new skills and expertise needed in the world of clinically relevant research. Our mentors come from the wide range of medical and surgical specialties, including established clinician scientists and basic scientists, serving as role models to all fledgling and mid-career researchers all the way towards full independence.<\/p><p>The value of a committed mentor cannot be over-emphasised, and for many of us who are active \u201cjobbing\u201d clinician-scientists, we have the first-hand experience in our own journeys, having interacted and benefitted from the mentors and role models in our own experience. Some of us may have more than one mentor for different aspects of career guidance. Some of us have a mentor for our basic science supervision, and a clinical mentor for our academic clinical career. Mentors are also represented on the applications for NUS PhD scholarships and NMRC Clinician-scientist grants.\u00a0<\/p><p>Get a committed mentor as early in your career as possible. \u201cTeaching the teachers\u201d means that the Clinician Scientist Academy is also mindful that we have to support our mentors. Mentors have to be resourced with up to date information on funding streams, P&amp;T requirement, and refreshing ideas and resources for research and career progression.<\/p><p>CS Academy provides opportunities for mentorship through the following programs:<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section
