As of June 6, 2026, health officials have confirmed 534 total cases and 93 deaths across both countries. The overall case fatality rate (CFR) stands at 17.4%.The DRC is the epicenter of the crisis. It reports 515 confirmed cases and 91 deaths, with a CFR of 17.7%. Ituri Province alone accounts for 94% of the country's infections. Meanwhile, Uganda has reported 19 confirmed cases and two deaths. There is no community spread in Uganda yet. All cases there link back to travel from the DRC or transmission inside healthcare facilities.</description></oembed>
